West Kelowna Fire Rescue is bringing attention to a staffing situation the union feels could compromise public safety.

After a fire on Saturday where two people were still trapped inside the home, West Kelowna Fire sent out this tweet.

Great work B shift at this mornings residential structure fire in Lakeview Heights.Crews made entry and rescued two occupants.Good thing we had an off duty member at the station or we wouldn’t have been able to save these occupants #safestaffing @CastanetNews @KelownaNow @bcpffa
