It spread to a garbage can, then the wall, reaching the ceiling.
No one was hurt. Damage to the bathroom is estimated at $5,000.
The cause of the fire isn’t known.
It was the second fire at Health Sciences Centre in March. On March 5, a fire in a construction site at HSC forced the evacuation of the Children’s Hospital next door.
