Winnipeg firefighters responded to a fire at seven-storey apartment building on Mayfair Place Monday morning.
The fire was confined to one suite. The person living in the suite was transported to hospital in stable condition, a city of Winnipeg spokesperson said Monday.

Upon arrival, a second alarm was called because of the high threat with an occupied apartment complex, the city said. This increased the number of fire crew members on the scene.
About five fire trucks responded to the call.
No other injuries were reported.
