GORE BAY, Ont. – Police say a man is missing after an all-terrain vehicle carrying three people plunged through the ice of a frozen lake southwest of Sudbury.
Investigators say three fishermen were riding an ATV on Lake Wosley around 8 a.m. Friday when the vehicle broke through a section of the ice.
They say two men on the vehicle managed to pull themselves out of the water but that a 55-year-old Sudbury man could not.
A provincial police underwater search and recovery team has been called to the scene.
Police say this is the second time recently that someone has gone through the ice while riding on Lake Wosley.
They say a snowmobile rider managed to make it to shore safely earlier this week after the vehicle ended up in the water.
