The Transcona BIZ is spinning their wheels trying to figure out who keeps stealing their bike tools.
In a social media post sent out Wednesday afternoon, the BIZ said the bike tools at one of their two stations was stolen – again.
“This is the second time they disappeared,” said Alex Morrison, the BIZ’s executive director, noting the first time it happened was in June.

The bike booty? A screwdriver and the end nozzle of an air pump.
Morrison said she’s stumped.
“I don’t even know why they’d bother,” she said, noting both things can be purchased inexpensively at dollar stores.
The kicker is in order to steal the screwdriver, the thieves would need a sophisticated tool that costs several hundred dollars to cut the lock.
The Transcona BIZ has two bike repair stations, one at Transcona Centennial Square and one on the corner of Pandora Avenue and Bond Street, just down the road from the BIZ offices.
The repair stations are well-used, said Morrison.
“Yes, 99.9 per cent of people love them and think they’re great and use them as intended,” she said.
The BIZ will replace the tools as soon as they can, Morrison added.
