The City of Prince Albert said its lifeguards successfully used CPR to save a child’s life.
Kinsmen Water Park aquatic staff responded to an unconscious nine-year-old child in the main outdoor swimming pool at roughly 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 1.
After CPR was administered, the child was alert and taken to Victoria Hospital to be treated for the near drowning.
Parkland Ambulance officials said if it wasn’t for the lifeguards’ quick response, this event would not have been a success.
City officials are reminding people about Kinsmen Water Park’s adult supervision policy which states children aged eight to 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
The water park was closed Aug. 2 in order to complete an investigation and properly debrief staff.
