Orillia OPP are investigating after an early morning collision in Oro-Medonte left one man dead.
According to police, on Aug. 2 just after 6 a.m., a station wagon and an SUV collided on Line 9 south of Ridge Road East in Oro-Medonte.

Police were dispatched to the scene along with Oro-Medonte Fire and Emergency Services, County of Simcoe paramedics and Air Ambulance.

Police say 41-year-old Michael Sampson of Oro-Medonte suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead as a result of the collision.
According to police, a post-mortem examination of the deceased will be conducted.
Officers say technical traffic collision investigators have been called in to assist with the ongoing investigation.
