UPDATE: TSB says pilot who died in Alberta ultralight crash had just bought the plane
A 43-year-old Saskatchewan man died Tuesday after the small plane he was piloting crashed east of Grande Prairie on Tuesday afternoon, RCMP said.
The ultralight aircraft was 13 kilometres east of Grande Prairie when it crashed into terrain, the Transportation Safety Board (TSB) told Global News.
After the crash, a fire broke out.
The pilot — the only person in the plane at the time — was fatally injured. RCMP said no one else was on board.

RCMP said emergency crews were called to the scene near Range Road 52 at 2:03 p.m.
Two TSB investigators from Edmonton were headed to Grande Prairie and expected to be on scene by 9:30 p.m. MT.
