Man killed in Saskatoon workplace incident

A 61-year-old man has been killed in a Saskatoon workplace incident.

Emergency crews were called to a business in the 100-block of Apex Street just after 8:15 a.m. CT Tuesday.

A man was found at Basic Truck and Trailer Repair with serious injuries.

He was rushed to hospital by paramedics where he died from his injuries.

“A 61-year-old male, he was young,” Medavie Health Services West spokesperson Troy Davies said. “We don’t know yet until you hear the full investigation, but it’s tough for everyone around and our hearts go out to the family.”

His name has not been released.

Global News reached out to Basic Truck and Trailer Repair, a man who answered the phone declined to comment, saying it was too early. He said they will be waiting to hear from the family before answering any questions or confirming what happened.

Basic Truck and Trailer repair deals with medium to heavy duty trucks and trailers, as well as suspension, air and electrical repairs.

Occupational Health and Safety is investigating.
