Police said they received reports of an assault with a weapon.

A 38-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The victim told police he was in the parking lot outside the store when a man he didn’t know ran toward him.

The victim slipped and fell, at which time the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed him once in the upper body. The suspect then took off without saying or stealing anything.

General Patrol and the K-9 unit were not able to find the suspect.
