Calgary police responded to a complaint of an assault in southeast Calgary around 1 a.m. Saturday.
In the Applewood Park community, police found a man in his 40s suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains in stable condition. Officers said his condition is not expected to deteriorate.

CPS said there were a number of witnesses on scene, many of whom were not co-operating.
Police said a person of interest has been taken into custody. They cannot confirm what relationship, if any, exists between the victim and suspect.
The investigation is ongoing.
