Joe Dickson hosts 25th charity golf tournament at Deer Creek Golf Course

More than 100 golfers took to the links Thursday to participate in Joe Dickson’s 25th annual charity golf tournament.

Over 150 people came out to Deer Creek Golf Course.

Over the years, the tournament has raised thousands of dollars for a number charities throughout the region.

The money raised from Thursday’s event will once again go to many of those charities, including Ajax-Pickering Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul Society, along with food banks and kitchens across Durham.

“We’re so fortunate to have over 150 today,” said Joe Dickson, 25th annual charity golf tournament host. “We’ve had as high as 200 on a golf day so it’s just absolutely great. Everybody in need in the community, we assist some 23 charities, so it’s very important that we help these wonderful people, these friends of ours throughout all of Durham region.”

Three local women’s shelters will also be receiving donations.
