Canada’s Wonderland is warning people that a website link circulating on Facebook purporting to offer free tickets to the popular amusement park is fraudulent.
Officials at the attraction located in Vaughan, Ont., northwest of Toronto say a similar scheme had earlier been spreading on WhatsApp.
“Canada’s Wonderland providing 5 Free tickets Per family to celebrate its 51th year of quality service!” the Facebook link reads.
The free-ticket scam asks people to click on a link which then sends them to a web page to complete an online survey.

“You have been selected to take part in our short survey to get 5 Free Canada’s Wonderland Tickets! We only have 212 tickets remaining so hurry up!” the web page says.
Once the survey is complete, the user is told to share the page and click on the like button. Afterwards, five tickets are offered.
A spokesperson said in a statement that these ticket offers and websites are not authorized by Canada’s Wonderland.
“We caution people to be wary of discounted ticket deals from individuals, third-party websites, apps or social media,” Canada’s Wonderland director of communications, Grace Peacock, said.
Park officials are advising people to purchase tickets at the official website, at the park’s front gate or from authorized ticket dealers, which include Costco, Perkopolis and Venngo.

“Canada’s Wonderland takes ticket fraud very seriously,” Peacock said. “If anyone has any concerns about the validity of their ticket or a dealer, please call guest services at 905-832-8131.”
Peacock said York Regional Police have been made aware of the fraudulent ticket scheme.
