South Simcoe police are treating a fire that ripped through a century home in Bradford during the Canada Day long weekend as “criminally suspicious.”
According to police, on July 1 at 4 a.m., officers were dispatched to a home on Moore Street in Bradford after receiving a report of a fire.
Police say due to the size of the blaze, two trucks from Innisfil Fire were brought in to assist three Bradford West Gwillimbury fire trucks battling the fire.
Police say no one was injured as a result of the fire, and the damage estimate is still unknown.
However, police are now treating the fire as criminally suspicious.
Police say further investigation has also revealed the actual time of the blaze was sometime between 3 and 4 a.m.
Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the fire to call the South Simcoe police at 705-426-2141, 905-775-3311. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
Police say investigators are particularly interested in obtaining security camera video from citizens in the area from the early morning hours of July 1.
