The entire District of Summerland is on a boil-water notice.
The notice was issued Tuesday as the result of an unexpected issue at the water treatment plant.

Officials don’t specify the exact cause or extent of the failure.
They’re recommending that all water users bring their water to a boil for at least one minute before consumption or use an alternate source of water. That includes food preparation, teeth brushing and any consumption of water.
The district said residents will be notified when the boil notice has been lifted but don’t offer a time frame on when that might happen.
