Proud Mom

 There are so
many reasons my heart bursts with love for my daughter each day.
Mostly, her mere existance fills me with joy.  There are the obvious moments anyone with or
without children would expect a parent to enjoy. The little hugs and kisses, her
excitement in the seemingly mundane.. like the snow falling from the sky, or
the way the water splashes out of the tub and dots the bathroom floor. But sometimes
I find myself filled with pride at moments I never considered before having a
child.
Today we were out shopping at a
store which was a visual feast for a toddler, I told her not to touch
anything.. and she didn’t.. she got up so close to examine colourful
decorations, candles and gadgets.. but she listened, she didn’t touch. I was so
proud.
Then we went for lunch. We have
been working on potty training, but I haven’t even attempted to get her to use
a potty outside our own home.
  Well, at the
restaurant she turns to me and says “pee”.

I set her down and she tears off to the bathroom.. I don’t even known
how she knew where it was. She waited until I got her diaper off and peed in
the toilet.
  I was so excited for
her.
Probably as excited as she was
about the snow falling outside.
