The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has confirmed it is assisting RCMP in their investigation into the homicides of two men who went missing from Ucluelet.

Dan Archbald and Ryan Daley were last seen leaving their sailboat in Ucluelet Small Craft Harbour on May 16.

The pair had just returned from a sailing trip to Panama when they vanished.

A friend of Archbald’s said the two of them started a business and hoped to import a boat from Panama as they started a new charter service.

They failed to contact friends and family when they arrived back in Ucluelet, and were reported missing to police.

Their remains were discovered near Ucluelet last month by a woman walking her dog.
