71-year-old Guelph woman dies following Highway 7 head-on collision in June: OPP

Wellington County OPP say a 71-year-old woman from Guelph has died of her injuries following a crash on June 20.

The head-on collision happened at around 5:30 p.m. on Highway 7 between Watson Parkway and Jones Baseline, east of Guelph.

Police said Susan Jane Milson was airlifted to a trauma centre, but has now died of her injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 77-year-old man from Halton Region, suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Const. Josh Cunningham said investigators do not expect to lay any charges.

“Milson [was] driving towards Guelph [and] was driving at or about an appropriate speed,” Cunningham said. “It appears, though, that she did cross into the oncoming traffic and collided with the other driver.”

Cunningham said it’s not clear when Milson died, but OPP were notified of her death by the coroner on the weekend.
