Man stabbed multiple times in Calgary break and enter

Global News Morning Calgary's Bindu Suri has the details on a serious incident on Falconridge Drive in northeast Calgary – Jul 2, 2018

A man was rushed to hospital after a reported break and enter in northeast Calgary on Monday morning.

Police said they were called to the 1300-block of Falconridge Drive N.E. after they received a report that a man had forced his way into a home at around 5:30 a.m.

According to police, the man suffered multiple stab wounds and was rushed to hospital in critical, life-threatening condition. As of Monday evening, his condition had improved to stable.

One suspect, who is not known to police, was arrested at the scene.

Calgary Police Service Insp. Asif Rashid said the incident appeared to be random in nature.

“[Police believe] the suspect in custody is not known to the male victim or other occupants in the residence,” he said.

“What concerns us most is any time there is this level of violence that we see in our community, it resonates with us as a police service and as a community as well.”

No one else was hurt during the break-in.
