Saskatchewan Roughriders’ Duron Carter is heading to trial.

On Wednesday, Carter’s legal counsel entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf in connection to a marijuana possession charge.

The 27-year-old American was charged after being arrested at the Saskatoon Airport in February.

His next court appearance is scheduled for July 5.

Last week, the CFL athlete was given an absolute discharge after pleading guilty to having marijuana-laced cookies in his possession at the Winnipeg airport in November.
