WINNIPEG – Defenceman Joe Morrow will be back with the Winnipeg Jets after all.

The Jets announced on Wednesday they had agreed to terms with Morrow on a one-year contract worth $1-million dollars.

Morrow, 25, was originally a restricted free agent, but the Jets failed to make him a qualifying offer by Monday’s deadline which made him unrestricted.

Morrow appeared in 18 games for the Jets last season after coming over from the Montreal Canadiens at the trade deadline. He had a goal and four assists with the Jets in the regular season and another tally in six playoff games. Prior to the trade Morrow had five goals and six assists in 38 games in his first season with the Canadiens.

It’s a small raise for Morrow who earned $650,000 on a one-year contract last season.

Morrow scored the first playoff game winning goal in franchise history in game one of their quarterfinal series against the Minnesota Wild.
