Ottawa man dies after collision with moose on Highway 17 near North Bay

At approximately 10:15 p.m., on Tuesday, officers from the North Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a fatal single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Bonfield Township.

The police found that a westbound passenger car collided with two moose.

The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Denis O’Neil of Ottawa.

Highway 17 was closed, from Highway 94 to Highway 531, until approximately 2:38 a.m., while OPP collision investigators conducted their investigation.
