TORONTO – Toronto police have released new security footage and are attempting to identify a person of interest in last week’s fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man in Cabbagetown.
Nisan Nirmalendran was gunned down outside of 55 Bleecker Street, just north of Carlton Street in Cabbagetown Thursday night.
Police believe the shooting may have started just outside the doors of the Bleecker Street building before entering the building’s lobby where an innocent resident may have been used as a human shield.

Det. Sgt. Terry Browne said “the violent nature of this incident, and the absolute disregard of the bystanders” made it imperative to capture the persons involved in the shooting.
Police say a person of interest can be seen disguising himself as he entered the Bleecker Street building a number of times prior to Thursday’s shooting.
