Man arrested after woman sexually assaulted in Halifax: police

A 47-year-old man is in custody after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in Halifax late Friday morning.

Halifax Regional Police said the incident happened at a residence in the 6000 block of Cunard Street around 11:50 a.m.

Police said the man entered the residence, sexually assaulted the woman, then fled.

In an updated news release Friday evening, police said they had a man in custody in connection with the alleged sexual assault.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Halifax Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
