Hiker rescued in North Vancouver

It was another Sunday night save for members of North Shore Rescue.

A 35-year-old hiker stranded in steep terrain near Mt. Fromme called 911 early Sunday evening to say he had climbed the summit but on the way down had become stuck on a rock ledge, unable to move up or down.

He was not hurt.

The RCMP in turn called out the search-and-rescue volunteers.

North Shore Rescue team leader Mike Danks says with the help of Talon Helicopters, searchers were able to get the man off the ledge and he was flown to safety.
