Employees and former employees of GoodLife Fitness have a chunk of cash coming their way after the company settled a class- action suit earlier this week.

The settlement was reached through mediation and includes $7.5 million in back pay to frontline staff.

The law firm which brought the suit, Goldblatt Partners LLP, has not said how many employees would be eligible for the money.

The fitness giant was founded in London in 1979 by David Patchell-Evans.

The settlement includes paying overtime at time-and-a-half instead of straight time, creating a new record-keeping system and paying trainers for preparation and administrative work.
