The Hamilton Police Service has added two new faces to its roster.

On Thursday, Hamilton Police Services Board chair, Coun. Lloyd Ferguson, announced the appointment of Frank Bergen as deputy chief, as well as a new chief administrative officer role filled by Anna Filice.

Bergen has been a member of the Toronto Police for 35 years but he said he’s looking forward to serving in Hamilton, a city he’s lived in for the past 29 years.

“I am so happy to see that Hamilton is leading the way in this province,” said Bergen. “They’re leading the way in interpreting what will be the changes to Bill 175 and the Safer Ontario Act. They truly understand being prepared for future policing.”

Hamilton police chief Eric Girt said the new CAO position will oversee corporate services, including human resources and computer services.

Filice is coming to the role after serving as director of human resources systems and operations for the City of Hamilton.

Both Bergen and Filice will officially take over their positions on April 30.
