A 32-year-old woman is dead following a multi-vehicle crash in Richmond Hill Sunday evening.
The collision happened just after 6 p.m. on Stouffville Road between Bayview Avenue and Leslie Street.
York Regional Police said a 2017 blue Lamborghini, a 2014 grey Mercedes, a 2010 white Dodge Caravan, a 2009 blue Toyota Corolla and a 2005 silver Toyota were involved in the crash.

York paramedics said a female passenger inside the Lamborghini was pronounced dead at the scene while the male driver was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger in a silver Toyota were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but police said in a statement Monday afternoon their conditions improved to stable. The drivers of the three other vehicles had minor injuries.
The cause of the collision is under investigation but there are indications street racing may have played a role in the crash. No charges have been laid.
The son of one of the drivers involved in the crash said his father is a driving instructor.
“He saw the Lamborghini coming towards him, and my father swerved in enough time for the Lamborghini not to hit him head on,” Azhar Malik said.
“Luckily my father had no student in the vehicle. He’s really puzzled right now.”
Malik said he was told the Lamborghini and another vehicle may have been involved in a drag race.
“On our way to the hospital, the paramedic driver actually told me that two people were actually drag racing,” Malik said.
“It’s frustrating actually. We’re driving instructors. We teach people how to drive and everything like that, and seeing people not obeying the rules of the road and everything, it’s really devastating.”

The area was closed for the investigation but reopened to traffic early Monday morning.
