On Wednesday, Donald Glover posted a mock 15-page script for his Deadpool: The Animated Series.
It was announced over the weekend that FX Productions, Glover and Stephen Glover would no longer be partnering with Marvel on the series. The Glover brothers were supposed to be executive producers and serve as showrunners on the animated series.
A statement from FX cited “creative differences.”
“Due to creative differences, FX, Donald Glover, Stephen Glover and Marvel Television have agreed to part ways on Marvel’s Deadpool animated series. FX will no longer be involved with the project. FX and Marvel have an ongoing relationship through our partnership on Legion, which will continue,” the statement read.

The Atlanta star took to Twitter on Wednesday to clarify that his busy schedule did not play a factor in the decision.
“For the record: I wasn’t too busy to work on Deadpool,” he wrote, along with a series of tweets sharing pages from his “Finale” episode of Deadpool: The Animated Series.
The mock 15-page Deadpool script gave a preview of what viewers might have seen from the show.
Throughout the fake script, Glover’s commentary from Deadpool is charged with protecting Sudan, the male northern white rhino whose death last week put into question the future of an entire endangered subspecies.
Deadpool is being paid for his efforts in bitcoin, but he also takes his time to confide in the rhino.

“I’m not mad about this whole cancelled thing,” says Glover’s Deadpool, adding: “I actually think it’s a good thing. I mean, is it even a good time to have a violent, gun loving white man ranting on TV? Maybe they just wanna sell toys. And this style of comedy isn’t it.”
Deadpool, as Glover’s character, also acknowledges: “I just wanted a place to be honest.”
The character also wonders aloud whether racism might’ve been a factor, saying, “All the writers were black. And the references were pretty black too. I heard they went over the lunch budget ordering Jamaican food at least once a week … maybe we were alienating our white audience?”
Later, the character says, “It just feels like everyone wants something different, but no one wants to do anything different to get it. Doesn’t Marvel have enough feel-good minority shows everyone supports but doesn’t watch? I mean, I think our show woulda been funny. I just wanted a place to be honest. And I guess that place is Freeform.”

Marvel has not commented on the matter.
The animated series was announced back in May 2017 and was set to debut in 2018 on FX.
