Transit Police say they have identified two suspects in relation to the violent attack of a 61-year-old Burnaby woman last Tuesday.
The incident took place around 6:30 p.m. on board a 96B bus at the Surrey Central SkyTrain station. The victim sat next to one of the suspects, who was apparently saving a seat for her husband. After arguing, the victim was allegedly shoved off her seat.

The victim then took a picture of the woman and her husband, and that’s when things allegedly turned violent. The female suspect allegedly grabbed the victim by the hair and pulled her over the back of the seat, striking her head and chest on the metal handrail repeatedly while threatening to kill her, Transit Police said.
“We’ve had a flood of tips that have come in with respect to this file,” said Anne Drennan with Transit Police. “Almost 80 tips have come in.”

“We are confident we have identified the two suspects, both the man and woman.” Drennan said.
The woman was taken to hospital with a broken arm, cracked sternum and head trauma.
Drennan could not say if the suspects had been taken into custody.
She said no names will be released until a warrant is issued or charges have been laid.
