Today I showed the Toshiba U920T Ultrabook Convertible,
$1,100. It is a 12.5-inch touchscreen with a clever sliding mechanism hiding away the keyboard. Like competitors, it has a 3rd Generation Intel i5 processor, 4 GB RAM and a 128 GB SSD drive.
It has all the connections you would expect and because of the slider keyboard with no hinges, you also have access to ports on the back of the unit. Being the latter of the new breed of Windows 8 PC’s it has Bluetooth 4.0, Intel wireless display, two front and rear cameras and an HDMI port for connecting to an HD TV.

I like the texture feel of the laptop, a raised pattern, making it easy to hold. The tough Gorilla Glass touch screen can take a beating, but one drawback is that the screen is always exposed so plan to budget for a case.
One key advantage the U920T has over other brand designs is the narrower full spec keyboard which takes up noticeably less space in tight quarters like a bus or airplane seat.
It does have more screen reflection due to the Gorilla Glass but it improves if you turn the screen brightness on.
