One of the men facing drug and gun charges in connection with a series of suspected fentanyl overdoses in Saskatoon was denied bail Thursday.
Beeharry was one of three people arrested after six overdoses occurred on March 10 in Saskatoon, which police say were connected to suspected fentanyl-laced cocaine.
Three of the six overdoses were fatal.
Evidence presented Thursday and the judge’s reasons for denying bail cannot be reported due to a routine publication ban.
One of Beeharry’s co-accused, 19-year-old Azam Kabani, was released on $7,500 bail Wednesday.
Kabani will plead not guilty and seek a trial, according to his defence lawyer, Mark Brayford.
The other person charged, Japmanjot Grewal, is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on March 28.
Beeharry and Kabani are from Burnaby, B.C. and Grewal is from Calgary, according to Saskatoon police.
Police continue to investigate the overdose deaths and say homicide-related charges are being considered.
