Calgary police have arrested a suspect in connection with the May 2017 shooting deaths of Colin Reitberger and Anees Amr.
Police said in a news release Wednesday that detectives are interviewing the suspect and will release more information “once formal charges are laid.”
On May 21, 2017, police were called to the parking lot of the Real Canadian Superstore at 130 Avenue S.E. and 48 Street S.E., for reports of gunfire.
Reitberger, 23 and Amr, 26 were both found dead at the scene.
Reitberger was the intended target and Amr was an innocent victim who got caught in the gunfire, police said.
Christian Ouellette was arrested in June 2017 and charged in connection with the shooting.
Police also allege Blais Delaire assisted Ouellete in getting the weapon used in the shootings. Delaire has since been charged with one count of weapons trafficking.

Meanwhile, a February 2018 parallel police investigation called Project Arbour uncovered a link between an alleged cross-border organized crime ring in Alberta and Utah and the May 21 shooting of Reitberger and Amr, police say.
Police said they are still seeking to identify a driver of an SUV who allegedly dropped off a suspect at a gasoline station at 70 Freeport Blvd. N.E. following the May 21 shootings.
The vehicle is described as a red Dodge Durango SLT, likely a 2004 to 2006 model, with a sunroof.
