TORONTO – A resident of a seniors home in Toronto faces a murder charge in the death of a 72-year-old woman at the care facility.
Police say fellow resident Joycelyn Dickson was pronounced dead after her body was found late last night with obvious signs of injuries at the Wexford Residence (at Lawrence and Midland Avenues) in the city’s east end.
They say a 91-year-old woman living at the care home was also assaulted and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say an autopsy will be scheduled for Dickson.
Peter Brooks, 72, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault.
He is due to appear in court this afternoon.
