Emergency road work on Hamilton’s Main Street West shifts to westbound lanes

City of Hamilton crews are making quick work of emergency road resurfacing operations along Main Street West.

The shave and pave of the eastbound lanes between Cootes Drive and Macklin Street South are complete, with crews shifting to the other side this weekend.

There is one outstanding section of the eastbound lanes near the 403 ramps which will be completed this Sunday.

Resurfacing of the westbound lanes between Longwood Road and Dalewood Avenue will begin tonight, at 7 p.m.

Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane and the operations will continue round the clock until finished, which is expected to be late tomorrow.
