A 23-year-old Nova Scotia man is facing a slew of charges after driving a pickup truck through a wall at a Tim Hortons in Chester.
The collision, which happened on Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m., left a hole in the community’s only Tim’s.
“We can say for sure it wasn’t due to alcohol impairment,” said RCMP Sgt. David Ferguson.
Ferguson says the driver was trying to pull into a parking spot next to the building when the incident happened.

“We don’t know for certain what exactly happened, it led to him colliding with the building,” he said.
Ferguson says the Tim Horton’s was “significantly” damaged and he’s thankful no one was sitting on that side the restaurant.
“The bricks on the wall were pushed in and knocked down. The frame on the window to the building was pushed in. It moved the wall,” he said.
RCMP say the suspect fled from the scene “in a dangerous manner” and was driving at a high rate of speed. A short time later in East Chester, three men were arrested.

The pickup involved in the crash was found in a wooded area by an RCMP dog not far from where the arrests took place.
The driver faces multiple charges including mischief, damage to property, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, and operating a vehicle without insurance or registration.
The man, who is from Simms Settlement, is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on April 25. The other two men who were arrested were released without charges.
Meanwhile, the Tim Hortons restaurant remains open to customers and repairs are underway.
