A 15-year-old boy is facing charges in connection with four different attempted arsons at a southeast Calgary school.
The charges come just two days after four youth and their parents came forward, following a public plea from investigators for information about the incidents at St. Isabella Elementary Junior High School at 855 Copperfield Blvd. S.E.
According to police, the incidents happened between Feb. 7 and Feb. 23.
Investigators said Friday that the three other youth who came forward were interviewed by detectives but released without charges.
Police said the three youth met criteria to participate in an alternate program outside the criminal justice system to hold them accountable.
In a media release on March 5, police said at about 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 7, four youths were seen “attempting to light arrows on fire and shoot them against the south exterior” of the school.
Investigators said similar incidents were reported on three other occasions, where police alleged Molotov cocktails were used.
On Friday, police said a fifth incident on Feb. 18, at McKenzie Lake School in the southeast, was not related.
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with four counts of public mischief and one count of shooting an arrow in a public place.
His identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
