Highway 1 was re-opened Tuesday after being closed in both directions following a collision that involved two pickup trucks that hit each other head-on west of Kamloops, killing one driver.
Police responded to the incident, which took place close to Greenstone Mountain Road, at about 1:41 p.m., the RCMP said in a news release.
A westbound pickup truck with a single occupant collided with an eastbound pickup truck that had four occupants.

The driver of the westbound pickup truck died as the scene, while the four occupants of the eastbound truck went to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The Kamloops Rural RCMP, Central Interior Traffic Services, Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service as well as the BC Coroners Service are investigating the crash.
The highway was closed and was expected to remain so until at least 7 p.m., according to DriveBC.
Commuters can use alternate routes on Highway 5 and Highway 8.
