NHL honours Winnipeg Jets’ Patrik Laine for multi-point performances

Winnipeg Jets forward Patrik Laine has been named the NHL‘s Second Star of the Week after recording multiple points in his three most recent games.

Laine finished the stretch with four goals and three assists to increase his points total to 58 in 65 games this season. He sits tied for third in the entire NHL with 35 goals. The 19-year-old’s 71 career goals are also the sixth-most by a teenager in NHL history.

Laine began the week by putting up two assists in Winnipeg’s 6-5 loss to the Nashville Predators last Tuesday. Three days later, he scored two goals including the game winner to help his team squeak past the Detroit Red Wings 4-3. Laine then registered two goals and an assist in the Jets’ 3-2 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday.
