Bill Paxton, Adam West and others left out of Oscars In Memoriam

After the annual In Memoriam tribute at Sunday night’s Oscars, viewers at home noticed a few people were missing.

While Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam sang a stripped-down version of the late Tom Petty classic Room At The Top, some people watching at home noticed some omissions in the tribute to the beloved members of Hollywood who passed in 2017.

One fan pointed out that even though Petty’s song was used, Petty’s photo did not flash in the montage. (It could, however, be argued that Petty as a musician didn’t belong on the list.)

Among the more notable snubs were actors Adam West and Bill Paxton. (Mary Tyler Moore, also absent, was honoured at last year’s show.)

Paxton, who died the morning of the Oscars in 2017, didn’t make it in that night’s live show, but didn’t seem to make it this year either.

David Ogden Stiers of M*A*S*H, who passed away at 75 years old on Saturday, was missed as well.
