She may not be a royal — yet — but Markle outlined (as much as she was allowed) her future plans for charitable work.
Using her first-ever official platform to argue the royals should harness the power of movements to shine a light on women, Markle said they “need to feel empowered.”
“Women don’t need to find a voice,” she said. “They have a voice. They need to feel empowered to use it, and people need to be encouraged to listen.”
She specifically spoke up about the two campaigns dominating the conversation, #MeToo and Time’s Up, and how both men and women need to come together if humanity is going to see any real change.

“We’re seeing so many campaigns — #MeToo, and Time’s Up,” she said. “There is no better time than to really continue to shine a light on women feeling empowered and people really helping to support them, men included in that. It makes such a tremendous difference.”
The Royal Foundation is a philanthropic organization currently run by Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry.
Markle and Prince Harry are getting married in May.
