Over 300 Transco school bus drivers began a one-day strike Wednesday. It’s their second strike in less than a month.
The drivers were off the job for two days in Montreal on Jan. 30 and 31.

School bus drivers are seeking an increase in wages. The drivers make about $20,000 per year and have been without a contract since 2017.
Union executives had reached a tentative agreement following the January strike, but union members voted to reject the deal.

The strike affects around 15,000 students across the four main public Montreal school boards as well as a private school in Lachine.
Bus drivers will spend the strike day at a general meeting during which further pressure tactics including a general strike will be discussed.
