UPDATE: Metallica coming to Saskatoon in September
SaskTel Centre has taken to social media to tease what appears to be an unconfirmed Metallica concert tour stop.
The American metal band started speculation by spreading potential hints on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Clips of the same videos are used on the Saskatoon venue’s Twitter account.
A short teaser clip was also played on the arena’s jumbotron during the Saskatchewan Rush lacrosse game Saturday night.
The most recent postings on Sunday implies an upcoming stop on the band’s current “WorldWired Tour.”

A number of U.S. venues have also posted similar teasers on social media, while Winnipeg’s Bell MTS Place appears to be the only other Canadian location.
No North American tour dates in 2018 have been confirmed by the veteran band at this time.
An announcement is expected Monday.
James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo last played in the province at Saskatchewan Place, now SaskTel Centre, on May 7, 2004.
Saskatoon concerts featuring Metallica have also taken place in 1997, 1992, 1989 and 1986.
