A snowboarder died from a head injury at Big White over the weekend.
The accident happened before 1:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Black Forest area of the ski hill.
“It is believed that the 21-year-old Kelowna man, was snowboarding alone when he struck a tree along the trail,” Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey said in a news release. “RCMP have since notified the man’s family of his tragic passing. We would like to extend our deepest condolences, to both his family and friends, for their sudden loss.”

The coroner is investigating.
Officials have not confirmed the snowboarder’s identity.
