Drivers overcharged at Diamond parking due to glitch in payment processing

Metro Vancouver residents who have recently parked at a Diamond Parking lot are being advised to check their credit card or bank statements after a glitch in the payment system.

Holly Lytle, a spokeswoman for Elavon, the company that processes payments for Diamond, said Saturday that about 1,000 drivers that used Diamond lots on Wednesday and Thursday have been charged multiple times.

She said the charges happened after Elavon updated its processing system However, she said the company apologizes for the inconvenience and has taken action to correct the problem.

The company has set up a customer service support line, said Lytle, for customers who have been overcharged. She said staff will work with cardholders and their banks to resolve any financial issues the glitch may have caused.
