Sarnia police say two children have been identified and given assistance from local police, children’s aid, and victim services thanks to information forwarded to the service from police in Kansas.
The Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigations Bureau was contacted last Friday by an investigator from the Kansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
According to the investigator, pornographic videos of young children had been uploaded by a known sex offender in Kansas and the content led police to contact Sarnia police in hopes of identifying the children.
The two children were identified as Sarnia residents and offered assistance by the Sarnia Police Service, Sarnia-Lambton Children’s Aid, and Sarnia-Lambton Victim Services.
The suspect is being dealt with according to the justice system in the United States.
Sarnia police are using the opportunity to remind parents to communicate with their children about the dangers of chatting on the internet.
