It was the low point of the Edmonton Oilers’ season.

On Nov. 21, they were crushed 8-3 in St. Louis. Their record sank to 7-12-2.

“I think that was one of our worst games last time that we played them,” centre Ryan Nugent-Hopkins said.

“That might have been actually a wake-up call for us.”

Since then, the Oilers have gone 8-5-0. On Thursday night, exactly one month after that blowout loss, the Oilers meet the Blues at Rogers Place.

“I think we improved after that shellacking. It was definitely a stiff slap in the face,” head coach Todd McLellan said. “We’ve done some things better since then. Still have to improve.”
