A 69-year-old man is dead after a fire tore through a mobile home in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu overnight.
The fire broke out shortly after midnight Sunday at a home located on de la Nacelle Street.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, flames could be seen shooting out from the structure.
An exploration team was sent inside the home, where the body of a 69-year-old man was discovered.
The man was pulled to safety, but was declared dead a short time later.

Fire crews from the neighbouring towns of Chambly and Napierville were called in to assist. It took some 40 firefighters over four hours to put out the blaze.
Robert Meloche, division chief with the Saint-Jean fire department, said water had to be trucked in as there were no fire hydrants in the vicinity.
Two firefighters were taken to hospital to be treated for minor burns.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
The Sûreté du Québec has taken over the investigation.
