West End Winnipeg fire sent six people to hospital

A large fire at an apartment building in the City’s West End sent six people to hospital.

The Fire Paramedic Service has been fighting the blaze at 489 Furby Street since 11 p.m. Monday night.

Everyone treated in hospital has since been released.

Ellice Avenue between Langside and Sherbrook were blocked with Langside between Sargent and Ellice also closed.

Fire officials were concerned that the building might collapse. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
