Saskatchewan Party leadership nominations close in race to replace Brad Wall

There are six confirmed candidates in the running to replace Premier Brad Wall after Saskatchewan Party leadership nominations closed Friday.

Contenders include Tina Beaudry-Mellor, Ken Cheveldayoff, Rob Clarke, Alanna Koch, Scott Moe and Gord Wyant.

Wall was elected premier in November 2007 and has held the title ever since.

The next Sask. Party leadership debate is scheduled for Thursday in Weyburn. The final debate is scheduled for Dec. 7 in Regina.

People have until Dec. 8 to buy a membership and be eligible to vote.

The new leader will be chosen on Jan. 27, 2018 at a leadership convention in Saskatoon.
